So who are you? My name is Anna. I'm just your average 24 year-old electronics enthusiast. I'm also a freelance IT professional and hold several certifications in server management, network technology, and OS administration. Where are you from? Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA. Famous for floods, Sanitary-Dairy, and Slapshot: The Movie. A relatively small city nestled in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, it is home to around 24,000 people. I currently live in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Why did you name your site "Annachronism" and do you know how to spell? I named the site "Annachronism" because it explains how I feel a lot of times. It's almost as though I was unwittingly pushed through time to end up in the present day. I find most things fascinating, but ancient and aging technology is nearly unavoidably intriguing to me. I can spend hours looking over the board of an old Zenith tube radio or pulling apart a switch panel. Because I like to surround myself with these older items from a bygone era, I am by definition an anachronist. As for the "Anna" part of it...well, you're here, aren't you? I also like to think that I really am a time traveler. Wouldn't that be pretty cool? How long have you been doing IT Work? I have been working on computers and networks for close to a decade. My mother and father cleaned out the garage back in early 1995 and I began working with anything my neighbors could bring me. When I turned 15, I was given a work permit and went to work for the local school district, fixing their computers. What are some of your hobbies? I love to fly my RC helicopter, a Blade CX2. In addition to that, I collect old videogames, ranging from a Magnavox Odyssey (still in the box) to the modern day Playstation 3 and 360. I also urban explore and used to box as an amateur in a small league. You act like nobody has ever replaced a laptop LCD before. Why do you make these blog posts? - I enjoy making these posts as sort of a timepoint. If I make a post of something, it's usually quirky or I've enjoyed the journey from discovery to fixing. Sometimes an item comes to me with an interesting story and sometimes I just like to document things. I realize that while something may seem mundane to you, a lot of this stuff is fun to me. I could spend hours taking pictures of motherboards, to be frank.
- A lot of people use the site as a jumping-off point to becoming electronic or computing enthusiasts too. I like to thoroughly document things for these folks, too.
- Part of the purpose of this site is to be interesting and fun to everyone.
- I use this site as part of my CV.
I want to contact you. How do I do that? My email address is annaks13 @t gmail.com. Replace the '@t' with the at symbol. Can you fix my _____? It isn't working. When I turn it on, it _____. Absolutely. Click on the sidebar link for "consulting". I'm usually very inexpensive and friendly. Do you have a CV? Yes. For now, if you contact me, I can furnish it at your request. I know an Anna Hegedus! Are you the one that _____? Probably not. There are three of us in my city! I don't have a Facebook, Myspace, or any of those other things. Believe it or not, I actually keep a paper journal in this day and age. :)
